It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members, Jerry Salamone. Jerry passed away Thursday night from what is believed to have been a massive heart attack.
Jerry had been a part of Oak River from its beginning. He played on the worship team and built the equipment needed to transport the gear when we were a mobile church. Many of the things you see in our present building were built by Jerry, including the stage. He was responsible for installing the lighting in the sanctuary.
Jerry was always there ready to give of his time, talents, and resources. He loved Oak River Church.

June 17, 2012 - Mario, Yvonne, and families. Your father was a wonderful person to be around always. I had a chance to have dinner with your parents a year before your mother passed. It was a wonderful evening, we laughed and spoke of all good things. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. May God grant you all strength at this time. ~ Stephen Kinford, Sharon Township, Ohio
June 17, 2012 - Mario, Yvonne and all families. Every man has a handful of people to help guide them, love them; in your dad's case, while representing Christ boldly. Jerry was this for me and many many others. What a gift it was to have a man with so much light with us for 70 years. May the Lord's comfort be with you Mario and Yvonne in this time. ~ Stephen Mangeri, Nashville, Tennessee
June 18, 2012 - Yvonne and family,

June 18, 2012 - Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Jerry and Maryann were a wonderful, welcoming couple who showed the love of Jesus to all they met. I'm so sorry to hear about Jerry, but happy that he is home with our Lord. ~ Chic and Patty LaNasa, Streetsboro, Ohio
June 18, 2012 - Mario and Yvonne, we were shocked and saddened to hear about your father's death. Way too soon for such a gentle and gifted man with so much of a love for family, people and life to leave here so early. Please accept our sincerest sympathy on your earthly loss of a truly wonderful father, friend and brother in Christ. As we know in faith, for as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, we all who are in Christ will once again see your dad and your mom for eternity in paradise with our Lord Jesus. I am certain of that, and I'm praying that God will provide you with an increase in faith, hope and strength that you all will need in the days ahead.
With all our Love, ~ Joe & Nancy Matulis, Longwood, Florida
June 18, 2012 - He was the best example of a giving soul. Wise, hardworking, compassionate and skilled at his craft and with the passion to use it for Christ. He practically saved my house, and my new family, from complete disaster when we bought our home less than 2 years ago. I had the privelege of watching a master craftsman at work, never complaining and always teaching. I couldn't wait to finish work and stop at the house, admire his work and listen to him talk. ~ Roger Chang, Eastlake, Ohio
June 19, 2012 - Yovanne and Family our hearts go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Bob and Renee Meyer
June 20, 2012 - Jerry was such a special man. He was so generous and giving of his time and talents, opened his home and made people welcome. He was a strong yet gentle man, a wonderful Christian example, and we are very saddened to think he's no longer a part of our world. There is consolation, tho, in knowing he has been lovingly welcomed into his Heavenly home and is reunited with his beloved Maryann. We pray that his family will draw comfort from your many happy memories of your years together. ~ Ron and Judy Proper, North Ridgeville, Ohio
