With the recent appearance of the virulent strain of the Coronavirus flu, and spreading around the world by way of travelers, we wish to offer the following education and information about preventing transmission of the Coronavirus and also our plans to continue offering you a safe, comfortable and God-honoring place of worship.
- We are dedicated to offering a clean and safe environment.
- Our facilities are cleaned regularly.
- In addition to hand soap available in the bathrooms, we will endeavor to supply alcohol-based hand sanitizers available for use at services.
- We plan to continue our weekly services but are monitoring the situation and following recommendations from state and local government agencies.
Best practices for not spreading germs:
- Stay home if you are not feeling well - services are recorded and available online.
- Notify us if you have a prayer or practical need so we are aware of your situation.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your mouth and nose with your forearm when coughing and sneezing.
- Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds at a time. Use soap and water when possible.
- If no soap and water are available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol.
- Avoid unprotected touching of shared surfaces like phones, handrails, door handles, public countertops etc. be vigilant and aware of what you are touching and handling.
During our services:
- Greeting others - feel free to experiment and be open to alternatives to handshaking or hugs - if you want to avoid physical contact please just say so, smile and nod.
- Elbow bumps, toe taps and big grins are all acceptable ways to say hello!
- Should you feel led to pray for or “lay hands on” someone, please exercise respect by asking for their permission and ensuring your hands are clean or protected. You may want to move to a quieter space so you do not have to lean in for the prayer to be heard.
- Bagels and other food will be served/distributed by a member of our volunteer staff to eliminate self-serve contamination.
- Do not share cups, utensils, or your phones with other people.
God gives us advice on what to do in a crisis:
- Luke 12:25-26: Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
- John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
- 2 Timothy 1:7: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
